Overview
Sonar's UWM integration lets you submit loans to United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) directly from Sonar — no manual export and re-import. Once your UWM account is connected, you can push a loan to UWM's portal from the loan's quick actions, and Sonar walks you through any missing information before it sends.
This article covers connecting a UWM account (your own or company-wide) and sending your first loan.
Before you begin
UWM must be enabled for your company. If you don't see UWM as a send option, contact your Sonar administrator.
Your UWM credentials — the login you use for UWM's broker portal.
Permission to manage connections — you can save your own connection for yourself; an administrator manages the company-wide connection.
Which UWM account Sonar uses
When you send a loan to UWM, Sonar uses the most specific connection available, in this order:
Your own UWM connection, if you've saved one.
The primary loan officer's UWM connection on that loan.
Your company's UWM connection.
If no connection exists at any of these levels, the send is blocked with a "No UWM connection configured" message. Saving your own connection is the surest way to send under your credentials.
Connect your UWM account
Your personal connection
Open your user profile and go to Connections.
Find My UWM Connection.
Enter your UWM credentials and save.
Your loans will now send under your own UWM account whenever you're the one sending.
Company-wide connection (administrators)
Go to your company Connections settings.
Add or edit the UWM connection and save the credentials.
The company connection acts as the fallback for any user or loan that doesn't have a more specific connection saved.
Send a loan to UWM
Open the loan and choose Actions > Send Loan to UWM.
Complete the pre-send checklist. Sonar checks the loan for the information UWM requires and ticks off anything already present — if everything's there, it skips straight to the confirmation screen. Required items: Loan Amount, Appraisal or Estimated Value, Subject Property Address, Estimated Closing Date, Credit Score (estimated or an actual credit pull), and A Selected Product. Each unmet item links you to the right place to complete it — the transaction dialog, the subject property dialog, the Set Key Date dialog, or the Pricing tab — and ticks off once you've filled it in.
On the confirmation screen, select your Broker Shop Branch and Contact from the dropdowns.
Submit. Sonar shows a success confirmation when the loan reaches UWM's portal, or an error message if something needs attention.
After sending
A success message confirms the loan was submitted to UWM. You can open the loan in UWM's portal to confirm it imported as expected.
Troubleshooting
"No UWM connection configured" — there's no UWM connection saved at your level, the primary loan officer's level, or the company level. Save a connection using the steps above.
The checklist won't advance — one or more required items isn't complete. Use the link beside each unchecked item to finish it; the checklist advances once all items are ticked.
Send fails after you submit — open the loan's audit log to see the specific validation error, correct the flagged fields, and resend.
Authentication error — your saved UWM credentials may have expired or changed. Re-enter them on your UWM connection page and try again.
