Creating a New Loan with the Smart App

How to use the Smart App to start a new loan application

The Smart App allows LOs to create a new loan within the Sonar system. To access the Smart App, select the plus sign (+) menu in the top right corner of the screen, then select Take Application.

First Steps

The Smart App first asks for:

  • Transaction type (purchase, re-finance, or pre-approval),

  • Occupancy type (primary residence, second home, or investment property),

  • Subject Property City/State

  • Borrower's name & Email

After you have submitted the borrower's name, Sonar will create a new lead, so that if you need additional time to complete the application you can come back to it later.

Completing the Application

You should first focus on completing the tabs under the Application section.

Completing one tab will bring you to the next, but you can also skip around and fill out the tabs in any order. After filling out all required information in a section, a checkmark will appear next to its tab.

The required tabs are as follows:

Once the Borrower, Subject Property, and Income tabs have been completed, you will have satisfied TRID. The borrower will receive an email informing them that the application is submitted.
