Before You Start

Your administrator should have created an account for you. All you need to do is reset your password to begin. Check for an email with a reset password link. For more information, see Logging into your account.

Navigation

Use the icons on the left side of the screen to navigate Sonar.

The Home icon takes you to your Pipeline.

The Pricing icon takes you to the Pricing tool.

The Contacts icon takes you to Contacts.

The Settings icon, available only for Administrators, lets you alter company settings.

The Logout icon logs you out of Sonar.

The Profile takes you to your profile settings.

POS vs LOS

Borrowers can interact with their loan application to answer questions and upload documents. However, they do not see the same interface as loan officers.

You can see what the borrower sees by selecting Point of Sale within the loan page. For more information, see Point of Sale and POS View.

Beginning a Loan Application

If you want to begin a new application, use the icon on the top right corner of every page. You have the option to send a referral email to a customer, or start the application yourself with Take Application.

For more information on starting a new application, see Creating New Leads.

Finding an Existing Loan Application

The search bar in the top left corner of every page lets you search for loan applications. You can search by loan number or borrower name.

Click on the loan application you are looking for to be brought to its page.

Working on a Loan Application

Most of the work underwriting and processing loans happens within the loan application page. There are a number of tabs on the left side menu which will lead you through the process. A checkmark will appear next to the tabs which have already been completed.

For more information, see the Smart App documentation.

Pulling a Credit Report

You can pull a borrower's credit directly in Sonar from the Actions menu on the right hand menu.

For more information, see Ordering a Credit Report.

Key Dates

As you progress through the steps of the application, you should mark off events as they occur in the Key Dates tab. Some key dates will update automatically.

To access your key dates, click Underwriting, then Key Dates.

For more information on what key dates are used for, see the Key Dates and Milestones documentation.

Documents

You can upload loan documents using the Documents tab (in the Underwriting collection). The client can also upload their own documents in the POS.

Sonar can also generate documents for you, such as disclosures and pre-approval letters.

Conditions

The Conditions tab provides a checklist of conditions that must be met before the loan closes. Sonar can generate a list for you, and you can add your own conditions as well.

For more information, see the Conditions documentation.

Selecting a Product

You can select a loan product manually or use the pricing tool to search for a suitable product.

To use the pricing tool, go to the Pricing tab under Loan Setup.

Adjust the parameters as needed, then scroll down to search for matching products. Find the product you wish to apply to the loan and click Select.

Exporting a Mismo File

To generate a Mismo file for a loan, use the 'Actions' menu on the right hand side.
