How referrals work in Sonar

Referrals allow borrowers to begin the application process on their own devices, filling out basic information about themselves and their finances.

Sending a Referral

To send a referral to a potential borrower, select the plus sign (+) icon in the upper right corner of the Sonar application, then choose Send Referral.

You will need to provide the following information:

  • Full Name

  • Email Address

Administrators may also choose an originator to assign the lead to, or you can allow Sonar to auto-assign the lead.

Select Send to send an email to the borrower at the specified email address, inviting them to start the loan application process.

Customer Experience

The email customers receive contains a link to a borrower-friendly part of the Sonar application. On the left of the screen, they will see your profile photo and contact information, so that they can contact you if needed.

Sonar will guide them through the steps of submitting an application. They will be asked for the same information required by the Smart App. Like with the Smart App, the information the borrower provides will satisfy TRID.

Changing Contact Information

To update the listed phone number, email address, or website URL, go to Settings, then click Edit.

The relevant fields are at the bottom, under Contact Information.
