Viewing Email Communications in the Audit Trail

Overview

The Communication Log in your Audit Trail shows you a complete history of borrower-facing emails sent for a specific loan.

Important: The Communication Log only shows loan-level borrower communications. You won't see borrower account emails (like password resets or referrals) or internal team communications here.


What emails are tracked in the Communication Log?

The following borrower-facing emails are tracked at the loan level once they've been sent:

  • Milestone Emails

  • Condition Reminder Emails

  • Invite Primary Borrower (Complete Application)

  • Pre-Approval Letters

    • The attached document in this email will not be accessible in the preview

  • Rate Lock Confirmations

  • Loan Status Update Emails (Incomplete, Denied, Withdrawn, Approved Not Accepted)

    • The attached document in this email will not be accessible in the preview

  • Appraisal Payment Emails


Accessing the Communication Log

  • Open the loan and go to the Audit Trail.

  • Click the Communication Log tab.

You'll see a table showing all borrower emails that have been sent for this loan.

Understanding what you see

The Communication Log table shows:

  • Email Type – The type of email sent (e.g., Milestone, Pre-Approval, Condition Reminder)

  • Sent To – The borrower's email address

  • Sent On – The date and time the email was sent

  • View – Click this button to preview the full email content

Viewing more details

Click the arrow to expand any row and see:

  • Subject Line – The email subject that the borrower saw

  • CC'd – Any additional recipients who were copied on the email

Previewing a sent email

To see the full email content, click the View button next to any email.

  • A preview window will open showing the complete email: subject line, message body, and any personalized details.

Note: The preview is view-only. Buttons and links are disabled for security, so you're viewing the content only, not the interactive version.


Key notes & tips

  • Can I preview an email before sending it?

    • Yes! For certain emails, you can preview the content before it goes out.

  • Can I export or download the Communication Log?

    • Not at this time. The Communication Log is available for viewing within the Audit Trail only.

  • Why am I not seeing older emails?

    • Emails sent before the 4.0.9 release will not be included in the communication log

  • Why don't buttons and links work in the preview?

    • For security, all interactive elements are disabled in email previews. You're viewing the content only.
