How to Import Contacts into Sonar

Importing your contacts into Sonar is straightforward. Please follow these simple steps to make sure your contacts are uploaded successfully.

Step 1: Prep the CSV

The first step in importing contacts into Sonar is to prepare the CSV file. You can go ahead and download the CSV template which you can find below. We've also included a sample file.

The minimum required fields for borrower contacts being created are: 'First Name & Last Name`, and for business contacts its"Company Name". These are the minimum required fields for the import to be successful.

Step 2: Send Back the Import to the Sonar Team

Once your CSV file is ready, send it back to the Sonar team by emailing: [email protected]. Our team will handle the import directly You can upload your file directly through our secure portal. Our team will handle the rest and ensure your data is processed accurately.

Step 3: Contacts Will Be Imported on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Just so you know, contacts will only be imported into Sonar on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is to ensure that the import process runs smoothly and efficiently. If you send your CSV file to the Sonar team on any other day, it will be imported on the next available Tuesday or Thursday.

Other Important Call-Outs

When preparing your CSV file, it's crucial to correctly categorize each contact. For the field `Type` Sonar will only accept the following options:

  • Borrower

  • Appraiser

  • Architect

  • Engineer

  • Attorney

  • AttorneyAssistant

  • Builder

  • Developer

  • ClosingAgent

  • ClosingAssistant

  • Contractor

  • TitleAgent

  • RealEstateAgent

  • Other

Please ensure that these values are used exactly as listed to avoid any processing errors.
